Civil Engineering Area Manager

Description

• Develop and mentor a high-performing team of civil engineering professionals
• Manage relationships with agencies and consultants, maintaining strong, productive partnerships.
• Play a key role in recruiting efforts, identifying key staffing needs and actively participating in the recruitment process.
• Engage in business development and networking activities including representing the company at industry and other events.
• May selectively lead major or strategic projects and may serve as the primary Project Management representative to select clients.
• Coordinate with senior leaders and business development staff to identify and pursue new business opportunities and strategic initiatives
• Coordinate with discipline leaders and senior management to monitor workloads and ensure effective resource allocation.
• Identify and cultivate new business opportunities and relationships to drive regional growth
• Promote our brand and services within the Louisville regional market
• Provide or ensure QA/QC on local projects and may contribute to the production of select deliverables within your operational discipline/background.
• Lead and oversee the Louisville office operations, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with staff, discipline leaders, and senior management
• Coordinate with discipline leaders, management, and corporate HR staff on personnel and staffing issues

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Experience with project management and accounting software is helpful
• 12+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, but not required
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work individually or as part of a team
• Demonstrated networking and relationship building skills
• Exceptional organization skills
