We are hiring a Full Time Permanent Utility Worker in Training, I, II, or III, performing skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of the water distribution systems. This position reports to our AFOC office in El Mirage, AZ.
Utility Worker I must have: Minimum of one (1) year of qualifying work experience in water distribution field. ADEQ Grade 1 Water Distribution certification required. CDL required.
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Computer literacy and proficiency required for completing service orders in customer information system.
- Candidate must have thorough understanding of water distribution, and wastewater collection systems.
- Must have knowledge of use of tools and equipment used in the water and wastewater field
- Ability to deal effectively and courteously with internal and external customers.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints of water distribution and wastewater collection systems, service orders, and maintenance manuals.
- This position is subject to call back, overtime and week-end/holiday emergency call-outs and call duty.
- To meet the physical demands required of some positions, candidates must be in good physical condition and willing to work in all weather conditions. Clearance on pre-employment drug testing will be required.
- A requirement of working for EPCOR is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in the United States.
- Ability to complete reports legibly and accurately on paper and with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions and regulations.
- Ability to perform standardized water quality tests; ability to operate motor vehicles such as dump trucks, backhoes, valve exerciser, mini-vac unit, and similar equipment.
- Ability to code time card with up to 50 separate account codes.
- Must be able to tolerate extreme heat.
- Ability to work independently when given written and oral instructions.
