The Sample Preparation Technician prepares mineral samples such as coal, iron ore, limestone, and petroleum coke for analysis in accordance with published standards and company procedures. Working under immediate supervision, the technician handles crushing, labeling, filing, equipment maintenance, data recording, and ensures all work areas and containers are clean and organized.
The role requires strict adherence to personal protective equipment guidelines and local/federal safety processes, while also following internal policies and possibly supporting field operations or laboratory duties as needed. The technician performs other assigned duties to support business needs.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent; no prior experience is required, though a year of industrial or laboratory experience with strict safety standards is preferred. Candidates need intermediate English proficiency, logical reasoning, effective communication skills, the ability to read technical documents, work independently under moderate supervision, and be willing to work occasional overtime.
