Project HSE Manager I

Description

• Evaluate environmental training in liaison with the division/regional HSE manager
• Communicates results of incident investigation to project and division management teams
• Facilitates regulatory reporting of environmental incidents as required
• Develops innovative, safe construction methods based on extensive experience
• Takes full ownership of assigned projects and can work independently
• The use and application of technology as well as the evaluation and integration of new technologies as they apply to the role

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization (Verbal & Written)
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in HSE required
• The ability to implement program elements and safe operating procedures
• Must be “Hands On”, walk projects daily, and identify issues as well as successes
• The ability to plan and employ preventative measures to reduce the risks of exposure to hazards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read drawings and specifications preferred
• Teamwork orientation
• The knowledge of hygiene, ergonomics, and HAZCOM, and the ability to act as required for the preservation of health and the prevention of disease
• The skill to develop and deliver effective safety training programs
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel & PowerPoint
• Minimum Undergraduate degree in Health, Safety, and Environmental Science
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license before employment.
• Detail oriented
• The ability to determine the cause of an incident, and to initiate and implement corrective action to prevent recurrence
• Preferred BCSP Certifications or qualified to obtain
• The knowledge of environmental requirements and the ability to implement systems that meet or exceed compliance
• Ability to Organize and Prioritize work with little oversight
• The ability to understand and employ construction specifications, methods, and procedures
• Construction industry experience preferred
• The ability to plan and organize construction/safety activities
