The DoD Audit Remediation and Internal Control Specialist will help Department of Defense organizations improve their internal control environments. Key duties include executing A‑123/RMIC assessments, supporting audit remediation by developing and updating process documentation such as narratives and flowcharts, and creating corrective action plans to resolve findings. The specialist will also test or design internal controls, perform and review statement analysis and financial reporting, and review work produced by junior staff.
The position is classified under the Financial Management (FIN) job family and may require up to 10 % travel. Candidates must be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance, with an active Secret clearance preferred.
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a federal or DoD Secret clearance, hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, information systems, or a related discipline, and have relevant experience or coursework in financial management, auditing, internal controls, or federal financial policy.
Preferred qualifications include an active and maintained Secret clearance, at least one year of experience conducting financial statement audits, RMIC/A‑123 program execution, or audit remediation within the DoD, another federal agency, or comparable commercial sectors. An advanced degree and a professional certification such as CPA or CIA are also desirable.
