Shop Manager
Energy 1
A design, construction and consulting firm delivering turnkey energy solutions for residential, commercial and institutional clients.
Manages shop operations, inventory, fleet and staff for construction projects.
Track, schedule, and ensure maintenance or repairs are up to date for company vehicles, i.e. oil changes, tire rotations, accident repairs, recalls, etc.
Create and implement policies and procedures for efficient material procurement, storage, and distribution.
Assist administrative team with keeping the fleet database updated.
Hire, train and manage Parts Runners/Shop Support. May perform duties of the Parts Runners in their absence.
Coordinate and schedule timely material and tool delivery to shop and jobsite locations.
Collaborate with Field Technicians, Department Managers, and Project Managers to ensure they have the correct tools, equipment, and materials for jobs.
Maintain record of repairs performed on company trucks and tools.
Purchase and maintain material and PPE stock for shop.
Assist administrative team with accident reporting.
This position may be requested to work overtime and weekends on occasion.
Receive, inventory, and distribute shipments.
Maintain and document the inventory of company tools, performing regular maintenance to ensure tools are in good working condition.
Maintain parts organization and cleanliness of the shop.
Create and implement policies and procedures for job site setup and jobsite clean off.
Order material, tools, and equipment for jobs from suppliers as necessary.

1-2 years supervisory experience
Preferred: OSHA Forklift trainer certification
Preferred: Fleet coordination experience

Demonstrates the ability to work independently, take initiative, meet deadlines, and meet project objectives with minimal follow up (high level of self-accountability).
High School Diploma or equivalent
This position is located in Bozeman MT, and will require regular non-overnight travel to multiple E1 sites as the need arises.
Preferred: OSHA-10 training
3-5 years prior shop supervision experience
2+ years forklift experience, with current OSHA Forklift certification, or willing to obtain certification within 6-months of employment.
Demonstrates the ability to multitask, make quick decisions, and manage time efficiently.
A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
Preferred: Knowledge of heating, electrical, and plumbing tools/materials
Strong organization skills, high attention to detail, record keeping, and follow-up.
