Carry out constructability reviews during the design of conventionally procured projects
Guide and mentor junior and intermediate staff
Lead bridge design projects of varying size and complexity through all phases of design
Develop design plans, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates
Build a strong culture of quality design and teamwork
Develop and present information to clients and the public
Assist with or lead bridge inspection and load rating assignments
Prepare, check, and deliver engineering calculations, reports, and technical studies

Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
Experience with bridge inspection and load rating
Experience in a bridge engineering technical lead role
Minimum of 10 years of experience
Proficient in MicroStation, MathCAD, & Microsoft Office Suite
Effective verbal, visual, and written communication skills
Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule
Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering & Licensed Professional Engineer required, Master degree in Structural Engineering desired.
Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting, engage in creative and critical thought, and effectively communicate ideas, design issues, and solutions to others
Experience using bridge design and analysis software (MerlinDash, CSiBridge, STAAD, AASHTOware, LPile, Group, LEAPsteel/concrete, etc.)
Thorough understanding of MaineDOT, Maine Turnpike and/or NHDOT design standards and practices
