The Construction Coordinator is responsible for overseeing small to moderate construction assignments under general supervision. Key duties include ensuring contractor activities prioritize safety, adhering to department standards, and understanding project scope, specifications, and design criteria. The role also involves handling technical contractual tasks, maintaining client relationships, and participating in field construction, design phase services, and subcontracting decisions.
Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with a bachelor's or master's degree in Construction Science, Building Science, or a related field preferred. No licensing is required, but at least five years of relevant industrial construction coordination and administration experience is mandatory.
Required skills include the ability to lead a small team, apply company business standards, and understand all engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction processes. Strong client‑relationship management, clear communication, excellent organizational abilities, and the capacity to handle stress with poise are essential.
Physical requirements involve the ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods, work outdoors in various climates, and wear personal protective equipment such as a fire‑retardant jumpsuit, safety glasses, ear plugs, and a hard hat.
