The Project Manager reports to the Senior Manager in the Projects and Processes Control Center, which executes critical operating systems and infrastructure projects for grid modernization and Energy Control Center compliance. The role supports project financials, execution, and development of scope, schedule, and budget. Collaboration is required with peers in Connecticut, Maine, New York, and groups such as Electric and Gas Operations and Operational Smart Grids.
Key responsibilities include supporting budget tracking, forecasts, variance analysis, benefit‑cost analysis, and procurement activities such as preparing purchase requests and orders, and processing receipts, accruals, and invoices. The manager develops and implements technical project scope, schedule, design, execution, and transition to operations, and evaluates regulatory filings for compliance. They work closely with Customer Service, IT, Control, Gas and Electric Operations, Regulatory, and Smart Grids teams and lead change‑management efforts to improve effectiveness.
Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and at least five years of relevant experience, preferably leading technical cross‑functional teams. Candidates must have experience navigating procurement processes, developing RFPs, contracts, and statements of work, as well as financial budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, and accruals. Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Smartsheet), Microsoft Office, and SAP is required; experience in IT/OT, utilities, and change management is preferred.
The Project Manager role is within the Operational Smart Grids department and reports to the Manager – Cyber IAM. The position is based in‑office in Orange, CT or Rochester, NY. Salary ranges from $103,939.20 to $129,924 depending on experience and location.
