Description

• Clean down your work area at the end of each shift and ensure safe working practices are followed
• Work collaboratively with the welding/fabrication team and approved third-party contractors
• Repair and maintain waste containers, ensuring they are fully functional, safe, and presentable for customer use
• Maintain machinery, tools, and equipment to a high standard, promptly reporting defects
• Participate in SHEQ workshop tours
• Complete and submit relevant documentation such as log sheets, tool checks, inspection reports, and other required paperwork
• Carry out welding, grinding, cutting, burning, and general fabrication duties as assigned by the Fabrications/Maintenance Manager
• Ensure correct use of PPE at all times
• Immediately report any hazards, unsafe conditions, near misses or incidents to the Fabrications Manager
• Carry out hot works in accordance with HSE guidelines and company permit-to-work procedures
• Maintain good housekeeping standards within the fabrication yard at all times
• Communicate professionally with customers, colleagues, and site personnel while representing the company
• Ensure all work areas are free from hazards prior to commencing tasks
• Comply with all company Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safe systems of work
• Support the maintenance workshop with tasks as required

Requirements

• Ability to read and understand technical drawings
• First Aid at Work certification
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good understanding of workshop Health & Safety practices
• Hot Works & Fire Safety awareness training
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Fabrication & Welding (or equivalent)
• Reliable, safety-driven, and proactive
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong practical and mechanical skills
• BS EN ISO 9606-1 (Welding Qualification) or equivalent coding/certification
• Proven experience in MIG welding (additional welding processes beneficial)
• IPAF or PASMA certification for working at height
• Experience working in waste, recycling, manufacturing, or heavy-duty engineering environments
• Full UK driving licence (if operationally required)
• Forklift Truck (FLT) licence (counterbalance or telehandler)
• Experience using grinders, cutting equipment, and general fabrication tools
