HVAC/Generator Technician

Description

Technicians will be responsible for ensuring reliable operation of power and climate‑control equipment at remote telecom locations, performing scheduled maintenance, responding to emergencies, and documenting all work performed.

• Service, maintain, and repair generators and HVAC systems at telecom and cell‑tower sites.
• Maintain commercial package cooling systems for telecom equipment shelters.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, load‑bank testing, and performance checks.
• Conduct basic generator repairs, oil changes, lubrication, and fuel‑system maintenance.
• Respond to 24/7 emergency callouts and submit accurate service reports.
• Operate and maintain a motor vehicle safely per company handbook and insurance policies.

Requirements

Preferred qualifications include at least one year of generator or HVAC service experience, familiarity with ATS and electrical troubleshooting, and knowledge of EPA, FCC, FAA, and OSHA standards. Certifications such as EPA Universal, Type II, or EGSA are advantageous, and a valid driver’s license with a clean record is required.

The position demands physical stamina, including the ability to lift over 50 lb, climb, and stand for long periods, as well as extensive travel to field sites. Work may involve nights, weekends, holidays, and on‑call rotations, and candidates must satisfy DOT driver requirements and safety standards.

• Minimum 1 + year generator and/or HVAC service experience (technical school accepted) preferred.
• Experience with ATS, electrical troubleshooting, and critical power systems is a plus.
• EPA Universal or Type II certification preferred; EGSA a plus.
• Knowledge of FCC, FAA, EPA, and OSHA standards.
• Valid driver’s license (minimum one year) with acceptable driving record; able to pass drug screen and background check.
• Ability to lift 50 lb+, climb, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
• Willingness to travel extensively to telecom sites and work nights, weekends, holidays, and on‑call rotations.
• Ability to meet DOT driver requirements (physical, background, driving record).
