Gas Operations ensures the safe and reliable flow of natural gas to customers and is responsible for planning, engineering, maintenance, construction, restoration, and emergency response for PG&E’s gas infrastructure.
The position manages teams, directly or indirectly, that execute field orders related to emergency response, gas service establishment, customer‑generated field requests, and equipment compliance and maintenance for PG&E facilities, while promoting a strong safety culture and regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities include ensuring work groups complete customer requests safely and efficiently, managing emergency response and equipment maintenance, maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, anticipating and mitigating potential customer issues, engaging employees in process improvements, and overseeing a union‑represented workforce.
This role is classified under DOT regulations and participants are subject to random drug and alcohol screenings.
Minimum qualifications are a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid California driver’s license, at least five years of operational experience, and the ability to travel within PG&E’s service territory, with random DOT drug and alcohol testing required. Desired qualifications include a BA/BS degree, experience leading union‑represented employees, customer service expertise, background in gas or electric service or construction, and strong skills in safety leadership, budgeting, communication, operations management, relationship building, continuous improvement, and employee development.
The salary range for this position in California is $120,000 to $190,000, with the final compensation based on factors such as internal equity, experience, education, licenses, and market value, and includes eligibility for PG&E’s discretionary incentive programs.
