- Write reports documenting system/component testing, laboratory research, process application summaries, capture lessons learned, and document corrective actions.
- Ensures compliance with government, organization and customer engineering standards.

- Assessing options for process improvements, expansions, or reconfiguration by developing and testing process simulation models.
- Working closely with process chemists and control engineers to ensure the application process is set up to perform as designed to achieve maximum results and efficiently run the process.
- Designing plant and equipment configuration so that they can be readily adapted to suit the plant components and configurations taking environmental and economic aspects into account.
- Applying new technologies and researching new products from trial through to commercialization and improving products and services
- Required to write procurement authorizations, follow procedures to operate components/systems.
- Scale-up/-down processes including appropriate changes to equipment design and configuration

- Ability to comprehend, follow direction and convey detailed technical data.
- Previous internship/co-op experience in field of study
- Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
- Exposure to use of CAD modeling and computer programming skills
- Well-Versed in safety protocols and regulations related to handling chemicals and operating equipment.
- Solid foundation in material compatibility, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.
- Basic level of Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge and experience with SOLIDWORKS® are beneficial
- Basic knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria.
- Strong analytical and problem- solving abilities; proficiency in math and science
- Good communication skills, ability to collaborate effectively and contribute to group efforts, good time management, organization, and attention to detail.
- Exhibits questioning attitude and practices self-checking.
- Must be able to obtain unescorted commercial nuclear and Department of Energy facility site access, which means a clear criminal history and passing controlled substance drug/alcohol testing
- Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships, work collaboratively within a team environment.
- A PE license will also be considered
- Chem/Mech Engineering Bachelor’s degree is preferred but an entry-level engineering degree will be considered
- Good problem identification and problem resolution skills.
- Fundamental understanding in how to design and optimize chemical processes and the control interfaces that manage them.
