Senior Piping Design Checker

Description

• Produce and check complex piping plans and layouts, piping isometrics sketches and electronic 3D models for equipment in accordance with project requirements, codes, specifications and procedures.
• Apply the correct level of scrutiny based on system and Level of Detail (LOD) requirements.

• Progress reporting and tracking
• Oversee Deliverable checking, progress reporting and forecasting
• Ensure alignment with P&ID and mechanical requirements, focusing on constructability, model accuracy, maintainability, operability, ergonomics, support type/location, and structural integrity.
• Communicate with Designers, leads and wider Project team
• Schedule milestones
• Coordinate with other PM Group offices as required. Develop an understanding of the project(s) scope of work, deliverables, time lines, hours etc.

Requirements

• Experience on International projects working remotely from India with an EPC company.
• Flexible to adapt to new ways of working and follow current PM checking practices and procedures
• A degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Suitable API and Bio design experience
• Minimum of 15 years’ piping design experience with 5 to 8 years as Lead Piping Design Engineer / Checker
• P&ID and Mechanical alignment
• MTO format (Auto extracted)
• Key skills for Checker role:
• Reject substandard Isometrics
• Sector experience- Pharmaceutical/ Biopharmaceutical/ Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API).
• Navis model with designers and disciplines leads (as required)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Has a combination of design software competency and checking experience (flexibility to move between roles if required)
• Minimum of 5 to 8 years’ experience in the use of Intergraph’s SP3D (S3D)/CADWorx / Plant 3D
