- Perform Quality Control tests on data entry and map deliverables done by others.
- Work within a team that designs, creates, and implements complex spatial databases and helps software engineers and other staff understand spatial data processes in support of creating and maintaining end-user applications.
- Develop mobile data collection applications utilizing Esri’s Field Maps and Survey 123.
- Geodatabase management and maintenance.
- Provides task management support on GIS related projects.
- Proactively provide your own ideas and solutions to solve project related problems.
- Provides GIS support to ensure departmental effectiveness and efficiency.
- Provide support in configuring web applications using Esri’s ArcGIS Online/Portal (ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, StoryMaps, ArcGIS Dashboard, Web Maps and Web Applications), to support project work.

- Master’s degree preferred and may be substituted for 1-2 years of experience
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work for VHB in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
- Demonstrated experience in task managing GIS implementation projects.
- Experience configuring web applications using Esri’s web application frameworks such as Experience Builder, Dashboards and Story Maps.
- Able to create map services and interactive web applications.
- Demonstrated experience providing GIS services within any of the following markets, transportation, state, local or regional government, energy or environmental.
- Communicate and be able to work as an individual as well as part of a large team.
- Must have a solid understanding of the principles and practices of GIS and cartography.
- Able to create Field Maps and Survey 123 applications for mobile GIS work.
- BS in GIS, Engineering, Planning, or Geography or related field
- GISP certification preferred
- Ability to learn new skills and methods on-the-fly, troubleshoot issues, and solve technical problems.
- Able to utilize GIS applications to perform advanced spatial analysis or data conversion or manipulation. i.e., raster/surface manipulation, mosaic, modify and repurpose imagery for other software.
- 5-7+ years of professional experience in the use of GIS technology required
- Experience working with the Esri product Suite, Desktop, Web, and strong understanding of Esri data models required
- Familiarity with at least one of the following programming languages, Python, JavaScript, Arcade, C# is a plus.
