Description

The position involves supporting the management of CMT projects through daily report review, collaboration with project teams, and resolution of technical and administrative issues. You will also train field staff, oversee project budgets, and handle invoicing and pay applications.

• Review daily project reports and provide timely technical and administrative resolutions.
• Collaborate with project teams and train field staff on project-specific procedures.
• Manage project budgets, prepare invoices, process pay applications, and support collection efforts.
• Prepare proposals, change orders, and host or attend client project meetings with follow‑up reporting.
• Perform soil classifications and assign laboratory testing tasks.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to overall team development.
• Apply sound knowledge of heavy construction safety practices and procedures.

Requirements

ECS Limited is offering a unique opportunity for a talented Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Project Professional to join the Fredericksburg, VA field services team. In this role you will manage a variety of construction materials testing projects and work closely with senior engineers, field staff, and clients to meet project deadlines.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Earth Sciences, Engineering Technology or a related field preferred. You should bring at least eight years of relevant field or laboratory experience, or four to six years of experience combined with a degree, and possess a valid driver’s license and insurance.

• Hold a valid driver’s license and personal insurance as required for field work.
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Possess functional understanding of CMT principles, ASTM laboratory standards, and related applications.
