The VP will own the development function, set strategic direction, build high‑performing teams, and retain ultimate accountability for portfolio performance. Depending on project complexity, the role balances hands‑on execution with delegation and strategic oversight while managing internal teams and external stakeholders such as data‑center operators, utilities, investors, and capital‑market participants.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities include leading and mentoring project development managers and engineers, establishing processes, and fostering a culture of excellence; overseeing data‑center projects from site identification through commercial operation; cultivating strategic customer relationships and navigating complex negotiations; driving business development and pipeline growth through feasibility assessments and deal structuring; and collaborating with the CEO, COO, engineering, sales, and operations teams to align strategy and resolve challenges.
Candidates must have at least 10 years of data‑center or renewable‑energy development experience, including 3‑5 years in a leadership role, a proven track record of delivering projects to commercial operation, and deep knowledge of data‑center design, power requirements, and stakeholder management. VP or C‑suite experience, strong communication and negotiation skills, and an entrepreneurial mindset are preferred.
The company culture emphasizes meritocracy, freedom and responsibility, transparency, and teamwork within a distributed, fully remote environment. Benefits include a bonus plan, 401(k), equity participation, medical/dental/vision coverage, phone and internet stipend, home‑office stipend, flexible PTO, and periodic company gatherings.
