Within the Resident Services department, the coordinator plans and facilitates programs, events, and neighborhood initiatives, while building and maintaining positive relationships with residents, colleagues, community organizations, and volunteers to advance SAHA’s mission.
Candidates should have 2–3 years of experience working directly with diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups, with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred; lived experience and knowledge of affordable housing or Fair Housing are considered assets.
Essential abilities include maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality, excellent written and oral communication (additional languages such as Cantonese, Mandarin, Farsi, Russian, or Spanish are a plus), strong customer service, crisis intervention, public speaking, and proficiency with computers, Outlook, Word, Excel, and web‑based databases.
The position requires frequent computer and telephone use, occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds, and occasional driving. Work is primarily performed in an office within an apartment complex with minimal noise and temperature variations, and the employee must remain calm and professional under time pressures and with a variety of personalities.
The Service Coordinator position is based in Newark Gardens I, Newark, CA, and is a full‑time role (40 hours/week) with an hourly salary range of $30.05 to $36.06.
