Lead and perform engineering design tasks and coordinate with CADD teams in developing plans, specifications, and estimates for preliminary and final design of standard bridges, walls, substructures, foundations and other transportation structures (Culverts, Inlet structures, etc.) Mentor and lead other junior engineers and review/check designs of junior staff.
Participate in technical meetings and discussions; strategize innovative solutions to complex or unique technical problems. Coordinate/communicate with clients, partners, and other disciplines.
Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
Identify and understand technical requirements of design projects and implement engineering principles to develop solutions.

Demonstrated history of being a technical specialist or Project Manager on mid-size projects, and supervise more junior engineers in the performance of engineering tasks
Experience with Design-Build or other alternative delivery methods, preferred.
Preferred experience with engineering design software, i.e. programs such as CSiBridge, MIDAS, PGSuper, etc.
Ability to travel as business requires.
Work productively and meet deadlines timely
Experience with seismic design and analysis, preferred.
Strong all-around theoretical knowledge of structural engineering principles.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Bachelor’s degree or greater in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering (Masters Preferred).
Strong people skills and an ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
Worked on a variety of projects including Class I railroads, shortlines, industrial and transit clients
Experience coordinating work across a geographical area with multiple offices/projects.
Regular, reliable attendance
Minimum 10 years experience in relevant structural/bridge engineering design.
Registration as a Professional Engineer
Experience with AASHTO LRFD, AISC, ACI, and other North American design codes.
Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
