Participate in in-house activities.
Represent the company in a professional manner in all dealings with owners, architects, vendors, other design professionals and contractors.
Review operation & maintenance manuals and develop systems manual for all tested equipment.
Attend team meetings.
Evaluate fundamental engineering guidelines, code compliance requirements, and industry standards.
Assist with organizing and coordinating equipment startups and participate in field functional testing with contractors.
Conduct Building Energy & Water Benchmarking analysis.
Execute and support field commissioning activities projects.
Working with Stantec’s projects team leads to provide and execute high-performance building project objectives.
Prepare commissioning deliverables and products including checklists, field reports, specifications, commissioning plans, commissioning report and writing sequences of operations.
Conduct detailed reviews of design documentation (drawings, plans, specs etc.) to confirm compliance with New York’s building performance requirements and applicable energy codes such as NYC Energy Conservation Code, Local Law 97, etc.
Assist in the growth of high-performance building services in the local region.
Assist in commissioning design reviews for mechanical, process, electrical and plumbing design and reviewing of MEP submittals.
Track and over-see training of O&M staff.

Good or general understanding in the following high performance building services - Building commissioning
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as report writing skills.
Good understanding in the building construction industry and process.
Good to solid knowledge of relevant building performance / energy management codes and standards including such as ASHRAE 90.1, NYC/NYS Energy Conservation Code, Local Law 84, 87, 88, & 97, ASHRAE Standard 180 or 211, ASHRAE Standard 202, ASHRAE Guideline 0, etc.
Familiarity with building energy modelling is preferred.
Knowledge and experience of building energy analysis and whole building modeling is a plus.
Experience with CAD and/or Revit an asset.
Energy Modeling Professional Certification - BMEP
Solid technical understanding in building engineering in Electrical, Process, HVAC and/or Plumbing design.
If knowledgeable, maybe asked to carry out Whole Building Energy Modeling using IES Virtual Environment, eQUEST, EnergyPlus, or Trane Trace 700.
Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
Familiarity with building energy auditing is preferred.
Familiarity with the LEED rating system preferred.
Preferred additional credentials include but are not limited to: - Licensed Architect, Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or Engineer in Training (E.I.T).
Commissioning Certification – BCxP, CCP, CBCP
Comfortable and able to work both in the office and in the field.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in architecture, buildings engineering, science or energy related field(s) required (Graduate degree is an asset).
Accredited LEED AP
Excellent organizational skills are essential.
Decarbonization Certification - CDP
Strong attention to detail, quality and ability to meet deadlines.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working in the Building Performance field preferred.
Good to solid knowledge of Mechanical System design/operation, and building science principles
Green building certification
Knowledge of building performance-related LEED credit requirements and documentation is a plus.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a strong attention to detail are essential.
Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office programs.
