MEP Designer (Subject Matter Expert)

This leadership role oversees engineering standards, technical procedures, and operational support across the APAC and EMEA regions for Company’s Corporate Real Estate (CRE) portfolio—spanning over 650,000 sq. ft. of commercial facilities. Acting as a global subject matter expert (SME), the Engineering & Technical Director provides enterprise-level consultation in building design, construction, operations, and maintenance.

• Develop standardized tools and frameworks to enhance consistency and cost efficiency
• Partner with regional/site facility managers to build technical stewardship across diverse assets
• Evaluate external developer proposals for technical and commercial feasibility
• Collaborate across business units and participate in Communities of Practice
• Participate in global coordination through travel and virtual meetings
• Support long-term asset planning and condition assessments
• Review and approve design/construction documentation for compliance with standards and maintainability
• Support operations readiness and pre-start-up safety reviews (PSSR)
• Develop and update technical guidelines to elevate facility design and operations
• Promote enterprise-wide process standardization
• Serve as global SME for building performance, design, construction, and operations
• Oversee external consultants for commissioning and readiness
• Provide technical oversight during commissioning and validate performance against design specs
• Advise on infrastructure strategy using benchmarking tools to optimize cost, safety, reliability, and lifecycle value
• Conduct Management of Change (MOC) reviews for design and process updates
• Engage consultants for specialized expertise as needed
• Review building system performance and recommend optimizations for energy, reliability, and comfort
• Align capital allocation with real estate strategy and portfolio optimization
• Develop capital renewal strategies for aging facilities
• Lead diagnostic problem-solving and recommend technical solutions
• Advocate for holistic renovations to ensure sustainability
• Provide cross-disciplinary design reviews (MEP, civil, structural, controls) and coordinate with global SMEs

Travel: Regional and international travel required

The ideal candidate will blend deep technical expertise with strategic influence to drive alignment, standardization, and innovation across geographies. Success in this role requires exceptional leadership, change management, and communication skills to build traction across global teams.

• Preferred certifications: LEED AP, ASHRAE, Commissioning Agent, CEM, PMP
• International and cross-cultural project experience highly desirable
• Benchmark performance against LEED, Energy Star, and other global standards
• 10+ years in commercial construction project management
• Strong background in asset management and facilities planning
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and change leadership skills
• Expertise in building automation, performance monitoring, and data-driven optimization
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) with 10+ years in HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical design
• 10+ years in facility management including utilities, maintenance, and capital planning
