Project Manager

Description

• Maintain positive and productive relationships with clients, AHJs, utilities, and subcontractors
• Coordinate with Accounting/Finance to maintain accurate reporting and cash-flow expectations
• Document lessons learned and contribute to improvement of MEI’s project delivery processes
• Act as MEI’s primary representative for internal project meetings and external contractor calls
• Track budgets, change orders, balance-to-complete forecasts, and subcontractor cost control
• Ensure work adheres to design, MEI standards, AHJ/utility requirements, and QAQC processes
• Facilitate internal processes surrounding Independent Engineering review/validation, tax/bank equity financing and asset management handoff
• Identify schedule risks and implement mitigation strategies early
• Ensure timely procurement, permitting, utility milestones, commissioning, and closeout
• Oversee commissioning, punch-list resolution and collection of final documentation
• Provide regular project updates to senior leadership and external partners
• Coordinate closely with engineering, independent engineers, legal, finance, accounting, and asset management
• Conduct site visits, monitor and manage subcontractor work to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
• Identify and resolve critical construction conditions, risks, and issues
• Assess completed work and process invoices to ensure appropriate vendor payment
• Review, maintain and monitor detailed project schedules
• Oversee completion of multiple projects at various stages in collaboration with various stakeholders
• Maintain accurate project records in MEI’s project management system (MESH)
• Coordinate with Construction Managers/QAQC reps to ensure safe, high-quality construction
• Support adoption of new tools, templates, and best practices
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations (EPC, PPA, lease, interconnect, regulatory, etc)

Requirements

• Project Management Professional (PMP), NABCEP certification or equivalent
• Experience with battery energy storage systems
• Own all aspects of delivery from NTP through PTO and closeout
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to travel to project sites as needed
• Experience managing subcontractors and construction schedules
• Experience with digital project management tools (Procore, Smartsheet, etc.)
• Familiarity with project finance, tax equity, or IE processes
• Minimum 4 years' experience managing solar PV or renewable energy construction projects
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent
• OHSA 10- or 30-hour certification
• Strong understanding of solar PV installation practices, design documents, and permitting
