Water Capability Lead - CCM

Description

As part of the Cost Management team you will work on projects ranging from high‑profile global assignments to small, impactful initiatives, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. Your expertise in planning, estimating, budgeting and cost control will help the business grow and work smarter.

• Lead within the UK Water Leadership team.
• Manage line management of the capability together with the Capability Director.
• Build strong relationships with other Water capability leads and across Arcadis.
• Monitor team performance and workload to exceed utilisation and billability targets.
• Develop mitigation and corrective actions to meet CB and utilisation targets and report to Water Leadership.
• Create and execute a recruitment plan aligned with current and future capacity needs.
• Conduct succession planning for key roles to build a resilient team.
• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to drive growth and report progress to Water Leadership.
• Partner with the BA Service Lead to lead the capability service community (local and GEC) in line with global workstream objectives.
• Enable service transformation and cultural change with a focus on service excellence.
• Ensure high‑quality delivery recognized as best‑in‑class by exceeding client expectations.
• Set and uphold the highest service quality standards, integrating PCRA and progressive assurance to reduce risk and enhance client satisfaction.
• Work with Capability Director, Portfolio Directors and the wider community to integrate standardisation, automation and digitalisation, identifying innovation opportunities.
• Assess capability for growth and identify upskilling or training requirements.
• Promote targeted learning and development initiatives that meet client needs and mandatory training requirements.
• Drive GEC integration to ensure consistent service across locations.
• Provide resources with Portfolio Directors to support project delivery.
• Offer commercial subject‑matter expert support for key accounts and projects across the Water portfolio.
• Collaborate with Portfolio Directors and Account Leads to shape future pipelines and inform resourcing and capability planning.
• Share visibility of resource availability across Water clients to maximise utilisation.
• Support implementation of global service roadmap initiatives with the BA Service Lead.
• Partner with Solution Leads and service teams to co‑develop integrated offerings for Water clients.
• Engage wider teams to deliver effective PCRA and quality assurance activities.
• Inspire geographically dispersed teams around common processes, procedures, systems and tools.
• Collaborate closely with Water Senior Leadership to proactively achieve common targets.
• Serve as a senior technical expert in the Service Line with links to professional bodies.
• Apply a technology‑enabled, digital mindset to deliver diverse projects for clients.
• Maintain technical excellence with a strategic focus, commercial drive and decisive decision‑making.

Requirements

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Water Capability Lead – Cost and Commercial Management (CCM) to head our Cost and Commercial Management team. The role will build integrated UK and global teams, drive capability development, support team growth, and ensure alignment with our long‑term Water Strategy.

• Demonstrate technical capability in water infrastructure design and a proven track record of leading large, diverse, service‑focused teams.
• Exhibit strong commercial acumen, complex contract management and negotiation skills.
