
Monitors security and public safety devices/alarms in PHA developments; Ensures cameras are functioning properly within developments; Issues/deactivates/tracks/monitors invalid, lost, expired swipe cards for PHA personnel and residents; Utilizes computer software- CONTINUUM and DVTEL for reporting, tracking and monitoring activities on live cameras/video as well as other information technology systems; research data needed to respond to inquiries; Documents, monitors, tracks through video site activity at PHA sites; Identifies and escalates priority issues; Processes requests for preformatted reports of doors systems, recording interior/exterior activities at PHA sites, alarm systems, controller systems, and personnel usage of swipe card ID access systems; Identifies document and forward priority issues/alarms or emergency messages, and notifies proper PHA personnel; Responds to telephone, mail, and/or email and determine service required; Maintains tracking system used to record and monitor inquiries and resolutions; marks, documents the date, time and location of all occurrences of criminal activity observed through live camera/video monitoring and forward information to proper department or entity; Performs related duties and other responsibilities as assigned.
Under general supervision, with some latitude for independent action, provides information to Public Safety personnel residents, employees and other individuals, of any incidents or property damage or loss, health or safety issues, through monitoring alarms, live camera and video systems. This position provides emergency management coordination, tracking, documenting and access to some PHA personnel during on-the-scene response to emergencies, including those dangerous to life, limb, and property, whenever they occur in developments and other PHA structures. This position reports to the Civilian Shift Supervisor; works on assigned shift operating alarms, live cameras and video systems, documenting, tracking, and sending information within PHA and to outside agencies. Incumbents work on an assigned shift operating communication equipment to send and receive messages and information to and from PHA Police officers, employees, residents, and other public agencies.
The Command Center is a 24-hour operation that requires employees to work various shifts including, evenings, weekends and holidays- Essential Personnel
Effective communication skills; General office practices and equipment.
Ability to meet and physically perform duties that require normal mental and visual attention under typical office working conditions.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent, AND three (3) or more years’ experience in security procedures, monitoring public safety devices, alarms, doors and cameras; knowledge of PHA policies and procedures; OR an equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience.

Possession of a valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Driver's License may be required.
