  • Coordinate with field teams performing ecological and wetlands surveys and construction inspections
  • Perform natural resource surveys including wetland delineations and functional assessments, wildlife habitat evaluations and rare species surveys, including soil characterization and plant species identification
  • Perform a combination of field work, technical report preparation, and studies
  • Present project permit applications to local Conservation Commissions
  • Coordinate with client and project teams while planning projects and developing local, state and federal permit applications

  • Other certifications including Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) or other stormwater inspector certification
  • Technical writing and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated experience with federal and state laws such as the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act and Regulations, US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), and other state/local agencies
  • Demonstrated experience with wetlands permitting at the federal, state, and local level
  • A Bachelor's degree in an environmental or natural sciences field with coursework in ecology, hydrology, botany, and soils
  • Experience in a range of activities such as biological and wetland surveys; federal, state and local wetland regulations; Endangered Species Act compliance; and Clean Water Act Section 404/401 permitting
  • Certification such as Certified Professional Soil Scientist (CPSS), Associate Professional Soil Scientist (APSS), Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS), or Certified Wildlife Biologist (CWB)
  • At least 5 years of experience working in environmental consulting or a similar field
  • Experience with conducting wetland delineations
  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and your own transportation
  • You should like being outside, and have the willingness to work in physically challenging outdoor situations in all types of weather and traveling on an as-needed basis to project sites
