What you would be doing

Identify opportunities to optimise laboratory workflows, applying BPS/LEAN practices where relevant.
Manage and document test records, calibration logs, and reports in compliance with NATA-accredited procedures.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols, NATA accreditation requirements, and internal quality systems in all testing activities.
Perform laboratory tests on concrete and aggregates in accordance with AS 1012 and AS 1141 standards (e.g., PSD, flakiness index, Los Angeles abrasion, compressive strength, shrinkage).
Maintain, calibrate, and verify lab equipment to ISO/IEC 17025 and NATA standards; ensure traceability and audit readiness.
Provide input to improve mix designs, testing practices, and contribute to R&D/product development initiatives.
Conduct plastic and hardened concrete testing, including slump, air content, density/yield, setting time, compressive strength, and shrinkage.
Support civil and structural engineers by providing test data, technical insights, and participating in laboratory and plant trials under AS 1379 requirements.
Undertake aggregate durability testing (soundness, absorption, particle density, ASR monitoring) to support long-term concrete performance.
Liaise with engineers, plant staff, and laboratory teams to communicate results, troubleshoot issues, and support decision-making.
Assist in the design, development, and verification of customised concrete mixes, including conducting test batches and plant trials.

Demonstrated career within the concrete or construction industry (preferred)
Experience using QestMix, QestLab and Command are highly regarded
