In a supervisory capacity, the manager will guide Safety Coordinators, develop their career paths, and coach EIG team members on safety leadership and management practices. By fostering safety ownership across the crew, the manager supports continuous improvement of safety culture.
Key duties include leading the company’s injury‑free culture, overseeing pre‑qualification processes, and delivering weekly, monthly, or quarterly trend analyses of safety data. The manager will design and integrate site‑specific safety plans, develop new hazard‑abating methods, and conduct regular job‑site safety audits. Findings, corrective actions, and escalation steps are communicated to DPR project management to ensure swift remediation. Additional responsibilities involve monitoring subcontractor compliance, measuring team engagement, and maintaining regional safety files such as training records, medical certifications, and investigation reports.
The ideal candidate is a flexible, detail‑oriented team player capable of juggling multiple tasks while meeting deadlines. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, excellent listening and communication skills, and the ability to resolve complex issues are essential. Effective interpersonal and leadership abilities, coupled with a strong work ethic and a “can‑do” attitude, are required.
A minimum of five years’ experience on construction sites, OSHA 500 training, and certifications such as Competent Person or Train‑the‑Trainer are required. A degree in safety management or a CHST certification is a plus, as is experience in manufacturing, data‑center, or high‑rise projects. Union affiliation as a carpenter or laborer is acceptable.
The role involves prolonged periods of desk work and computer use, as well as travel between the office and assigned job sites.
