Safety is paramount at Nucor; candidates must be able to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. The role involves detailing commercial and civil projects related to the supply and installation of rebar.
- May be asked to complete approximately two hours of assessments as part of the hiring process
- Continue developing knowledge of industry reference material (e.g., CRSI and ACI manuals)
- Verify drawings, dates, specifications, addenda and other contractual information from the routing sheet or business system
- Work with supervision to begin detailing more complex projects such as columns, beams, one‑ and two‑way slabs, and grade beams
- Notify supervisor of any changes made to contract documents, including approval drawings or field modifications
- Detail accessories, mesh, couplers and dowel bars and prepare material lists as required
- Collaborate with job site personnel to determine project requirements for detailing and material delivery
- Communicate with architects/engineers regarding problems or questions on contract documents
- Produce material lists for all products from RebarCAD and generate replacement orders as required
- Enter all drawings for submission into the drawing tracking system

The position requires at least one year of experience using a CAD‑based rebar detailing system, a vocational certificate or equivalent training, and legal authorization to work in the United States. Preferred qualifications include a two‑year technical degree, knowledge of CRSI and ACI reference materials, construction experience, strong problem‑solving, organization, time‑management, and communication skills.
- Must be able to work overtime when required
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Hold a vocational certificate in CAD design/drafting or equivalent training and experience
- Have at least one year of experience detailing rebar with a CAD‑based system
- Preferred: Two‑year technical degree from an accredited institution
- Preferred: Construction and concrete knowledge with experience
- Preferred: Working knowledge of CRSI and ACI reference materials
- Preferred: Ability to work collaboratively, solve problems, stay organized, manage time, and communicate effectively
