Experience with Designated Substance and Hazardous Material Surveys
Work out of town up to approximately 50-90% of the time depending on project location, subject to project workload, weekends and evenings
Should be able-bodied as the work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; lifting; recurring bending or similar activities
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Academic and practical experience with soil classification, various drilling methodologies and groundwater sampling methods
Maturity in interaction and ability to operate self-sufficiently in the field
Additional broad environmental experience would be an asset (construction environmental monitoring, air/water sampling, construction oversight, asbestos abatement, etc.)
Must have a valid Canadian driver’s license and access to personal vehicle
Bachelor's Degree in earth sciences, civil, environmental, chemical, geological engineering or similar programs
Having the relevant educational degrees and desire to obtain a Professional Designation such as a professional engineer or geologist in Ontario would be an asset
Experience as a Field Technician supporting Phase I ESA and contaminant remediation with experience including supervising drilling, collecting and logging soil samples, collecting groundwater and surface water samples and overseeing remediation (excavation, insitu chemical injections, etc.)
