Managing DA, CC and authority approval processes with councils and key stakeholders
Reviewing and marking up drawings to provide clear technical and commercial direction
Managing construction delivery, program, quality and risk (might be shared with a Project Manager)
Driving design management and ensuring outcomes align with commercial and leasing objectives
Managing project design documentation and consultant outputs
Managing the end-to-end delivery of retail projects from feasibility through to completion and operation
Attending all project and stakeholder meetings
Leading and coordinating consultants across design, approvals and construction phases
Control of project cash flow, budgets and month-end financial reporting
Our client is an established and highly regarded operator with a strong presence in the retail and food & beverage amongst other sectors. They are now seeking an experienced Senior Development Manager with experience in Retail and F&B to join their professional and highly experienced team based in Sydney.
Sound understanding of the retail development lifecycle from feasibility to handover
Highly proactive, self-directed and commercially astute
Strong problem-solving capability

Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation
Relevant tertiary qualification in Property, Construction Management, Engineering, or similar
Strong technical capability in consultant coordination and construction delivery
7 to 10+ years’ experience in development management, project management or head contracting. Must have strong development management experience.
There will be a lot of interfaces with complex stakeholders and candidates will need to have strong development management experience within the retail and food & beverage sector.
Proven project delivery experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Superior knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
Strong exposure to retail and food & beverage projects
