The Maintenance Worker installs, maintains and repairs the facility's building structures and systems, including plumbing, electrical wiring and fixtures, machinery, equipment, electronics, vehicles and grounds. Responsibilities include inspecting, diagnosing and repairing machines and equipment, as well as installing and repairing electrical apparatus and components. The role also involves performing preventative maintenance according to the established plan and supervising inmates or residents assigned to the Maintenance Department.
Qualifications include a high school diploma, GED or equivalent, and at least two years of experience in general maintenance or construction. Equivalent technical or trade school coursework may substitute for experience on a year‑for‑year basis. Preferred knowledge includes building construction and system operation, and a valid driver’s license is required. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
