The Branch Manager provides strategic leadership and support across multiple locations, overseeing the growth and development of the Commercial and Oil lines of business. This role is accountable for all operational aspects of team management, budgeting, forecasting, business planning, and P&L reporting. All work must comply with company safety standards, federal and state regulations.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities include managing regional operations, ensuring staff are effectively utilized, coached, trained, and evaluated, and contributing to hiring, termination, compensation, and promotion decisions. The manager conducts financial analysis, participates in regular P&L reviews, and schedules necessary logistical resources such as rail, truck, and back‑haul. Performance monitoring, identification of operational issues, and implementation of process improvements are essential, as is enforcing safety, environmental, and equipment maintenance policies. Collaboration with the District Manager and other department heads is required to assess capital needs and maintain smooth operations. The manager also monitors oil market trends, develops growth goals, leads acquisition efforts, and creates pricing strategies aligned with company objectives.
Candidates must have at least three years of experience in oil collection, transportation, and burner fuel markets, as well as 3‑5 years managing an RCRA EPA site and hazardous waste operations. A minimum of five years of supervisory or management experience, combined with financial or project management expertise, is required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel are also essential.
Key abilities include managing, coaching, counseling, disciplining, and developing employees, as well as generating leads and negotiating contracts to close business. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and attention‑to‑detail skills are needed, together with effective communication with internal and external customers. The role demands a self‑starter attitude, the ability to prioritize workloads, meet tight deadlines, and work collaboratively across teams and levels. Physical capabilities such as lifting, pushing, pulling, and coordinating limb movements are required, along with knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and proper lifting techniques.
