Tasks

-When delegated, assumes a lead technical role over other engineers or project subgroups for completing specific tasks. -Reviews/analyses bids and makes technical recommendations. -Reviews and checks work of subordinate engineers. -Coordinates Engineering efforts in assigned areas between specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the client, suppliers, and contractors and between other groups. -Plans, coordinates and prepares equipment specifications, equipment datasheets, material requisitions, bid evaluations and award recommendations for rotating/packaged equipment. -Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to project engineering management. -Conducts reviews of vendor drawings, calculations and other documentation. -Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals. -Prepares and/or assists in the preparation of cost estimates, quantity take-offs and equipment count for proposals, forecasts and change orders. -Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates detailed phases of engineering work for a global business unit usually in one discipline in a project or staff group. -Supports a work environment that fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction -Facilitates technical discussions with third parties (client, suppliers, regulators).

What You Bring

-Understanding of the roles played by other departments on projects including basic construction practices. -knowledge of field installation / commissioning activities (in addition to design / selection) for rotating/packaged equipment is preferred. -Broad knowledge of the application of Engineering to plant constructability as applied to construction methods and materials. -In depth knowledge of rotating/packaged equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines, water treatment equipment) and electric motors. -Understanding of Engineering planning and control methods. -Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer status from a recognised engineering council / professional engineering licensing board is preferred. -Skilled in oral and written communication. Able to work in project groups with shared-work teams globally, to progress project designs. -Applicant should be able to identify specific equipment services they have been responsible for, such as Air Compressors, Steam/Gas Turbines, API Pumps, Cryogenic Pumps, Packaged Equipment (raw water treatment, waste water treatment, sludge handling, chemical injection, N2 generation), etc. -Experience participating in model reviews and equipment walkdown at vendor’s shop. Coordinate with other disciplines, vendor and client to resolve comments resulting from model reviews and equipment walkdowns. -Able to identify technical hurdles and/or design issues proactively, to address them ahead of project critical path. -Pre-FEED and FEED experiences in related types projects. -Experience in executing Middle Eastern projects, brownfield experience and familiarity with Aramco standards and specifications is highly desirable. -Strong background with API 610 Centrifugal pumps and API 617 Centrifugal Compressors and gas seal systems. Experience with Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, and reciprocating compressors is beneficial. -Applicant must have BEng. or equivalent degree in mechanical engineering or an allied engineering discipline. -At least 10 years of Rotating/Packaged Equipment related experience in Petrochemical, Energy Transition or Oil and Gas industry. -Able to work with minimal direct supervision of day-to-day tasks (issue datasheets, material requisitions, bid evaluations) to meet project goals for cost and schedule. -Applicant should also be able to identify specific industry and technology experience such as Refining/Coker, Petrochemical, Gas Processing, Renewable energy, etc. Strong working knowledge of industry codes and standards such as ASME, API, BS etc. as related to the equipment responsible for.
