  • Ensure company-wide and project-specific compliance with environmental legislation, planning approvals, and permit conditions.
  • Build trusted relationships with project teams, contractors, and management.
  • Developing and implementing WHSE systems and policies throughout the company, implementing across major infrastructure projects.
  • A standalone role, this opportunity provides scope to lead the development of WHSE standards and culture, with excellent opportunities for growth.
  • Conduct regular site visits (approx. 20–30% travel) to engage and upskill project teams and promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Develop and implement Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and approve contractor Construction Environmental Management Plans/Site Environmental Management Plans (SEMP/SEMP)
  • Create clear, actionable WHSE plans and training initiatives to support operational and strategic goals.
  • Act as the key WHSE point of contact for clients, contractors, and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement policies and systems aligned to ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.

  • Proven WHSE experience within renewables, oil and gas, infrastructure, or related industries (solar/wind experience highly regarded).
  • Experience developing and implementing Health and Safety Systems, and Environmental Management Systems
  • Visible and approachable senior management team
  • Cert IV in Work Health & Safety or equivalent (Diploma highly regarded).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across all levels of the business.
  • Ideally tertiary qualifications in the Environmental field.
  • Ability to analyse gaps and implement practical, solutions-focused improvements.
  • Sound understanding of WHS legislation and ISO accreditation frameworks (9001, 14001, 45001).
  • Strong pipeline of regional projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
