As a Sr Staff Software Engineer at GE Vernova, you will partner with technical leaders and engineering teams to coach, guide, and drive the adoption of Agile practices that support learning and predictable delivery within new product initiatives. Your role will focus on enabling teams to continuously improve how they build, deliver, and operate software at scale, while also championing AI adoption and innovative technologies across the organization.
You will act as Scrum Master for one or more product engineering teams, facilitating Agile ceremonies, managing team cadence, and helping teams plan and deliver iteratively. By collaborating with business stakeholders and engineering leads, you will define product goals, manage backlogs, and lead portfolio and digital incubation workshops that align teams around value streams, platform capabilities, and delivery outcomes.
Through coaching, mentoring, and hands‑on leadership, you will remove delivery impediments, champion transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement, and drive the adoption of tools such as CoPilot. Additionally, you will design, develop, and implement both backend and frontend software using frameworks like Angular, Node.js, React, Java, and Spring Boot, ensuring clean, efficient, and maintainable code.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, along with 6+ years of software development experience in modern microservice architectures, Docker, Kubernetes, and API gateways. Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Git, Maven, Gradle, and experience with NoSQL and relational databases, secure development standards, and Agile/Scrum facilitation is essential. A Certified Scrum Master credential is preferred.
- 6+ years of software development experience with microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and API Gateway.
- Hands‑on experience with Java, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and related web technologies.
- Proficiency with Git, Maven, Gradle, and RESTful APIs (JSON).
- Experience with NoSQL (DynamoDB) and relational databases (Oracle, Postgres).
- Knowledge of secure development standards and static analysis tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field; Certified Scrum Master preferred.
- Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Rally, and Lean product development practices.
