The Route Auditor rides alongside an assigned driver on commercial or residential routes to pinpoint operational efficiencies, verify accurate billing, and uncover safety hazards. By analyzing route data, the auditor suggests improvements that enhance customer experience and service quality.
Core duties include collecting travel times, disposal volumes, service and collection durations, and confirming the accuracy of route sheets. The auditor checks container weight, size, and pickup frequency to ensure proper billing and alerts sales, customer service, or accounts receivable to any discrepancies. They also identify additional revenue opportunities, use the Route Editor to spot overlapping routes, and recommend safety or equipment improvements. Findings are compiled into detailed reports and entered into the customer database for review by management.
Candidates must have at least two years of experience as a commercial driver or waste‑industry helper and experience in a customer‑facing role. Strong time‑management and follow‑through abilities are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Eligible employees may elect a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental and vision coverage, health‑care and dependent‑care spending accounts, short‑ and long‑term disability, and life/AD&D insurance. Additional perks comprise an Employee Assistance Program, discount programs, a 401(k) with company match, an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, and paid time off.
The company has earned recognitions such as Barron’s 100 Most Sustainable Companies, CDP Disclosure, and Great Place to Work certifications. Employees benefit from modern tools, safety‑focused investments, and a culture that values teamwork and sustainability in action.
