The Junior Estimator supports the preparation of complete estimates for assigned projects and reports directly to the Chief Estimator.
Core duties include reviewing and incorporating data from various sources, analyzing specifications and drawings, maintaining backup figures, and tracking awarded contracts. Additional responsibilities involve preparing takeoffs, attending pre‑bid meetings, handling change orders, and completing assignments as directed by the supervisor.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical training; no specific licensing is required. Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and the ability to interpret computerized cost data are essential.
The role demands the ability to work under stressful deadlines, communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing, and possess strong business math and data interpretation skills; advanced computer proficiency is desired.
Work is performed in a climate‑controlled office with 8‑ to 10‑hour workdays. Physical demands are primarily sedentary but require occasional head, torso, arm, and finger movements, as well as full vision, hearing, and speech.
