Description

As an Electrical Engineer at Maddox you’ll split your time between the office and the shop floor, tracing and testing control circuits, troubleshooting wiring issues, and drafting detailed electrical schematics. You’ll also integrate metering systems, assist with transformer coil design, and review customer specifications to pinpoint unique requirements while leading efforts to standardize control wiring processes across facilities.

• Evaluate electrical control panels and devices for functionality and safety compliance.
• Develop detailed electrical schematics and wiring diagrams using CAD software, adhering to UL 508A, NFPA 70 (NEC), and NFPA 79 standards.
• Collaborate with technicians to address wiring questions and standardize wiring processes across all facilities.
• Support magnetic and electrical transformer design, including core and winding calculations, rewinds, and design modifications.
• Review customer specifications, identify exceptions, propose alternatives, and ensure accurate quoting.
• Source and equip transformers with appropriate metering and measurement systems.
• Designed and built notable software, electronics, or mechanical projects.

Requirements

The ideal candidate loves engineering, design, and continuous learning, shows strong attention to detail, and can juggle multiple projects while prioritizing effectively. You should be comfortable working both on a computer and with your hands, communicate clearly via phone, email, and chat, and thrive as either an individual contributor or a team member.

• Programming experience (scripting, embedded systems, or web development) is valued but not required.
• Familiarity with transformer operation and design principles.
• Understanding of electrical metering system installation.
• Knowledge of UL 508A, NEC (NFPA 70), and NFPA 79 standards.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

Compensation includes a starting salary of $105k‑$120k (plus bonus) and a comprehensive benefits package that can add over $20k in value per year.
