The AGV Robot Technician supports both STTT and MHE autonomous guided vehicle (AGV) systems through electrical, hydraulic, and programming troubleshooting. The role involves diagnosing robotic issues, collaborating with manufacturers, and working with mechanical engineers and production staff to drive process improvements and automation. The technician also provides basic operation and troubleshooting training to line technicians, planners, and engineers.
Candidates must have at least three years of manufacturing experience and be proficient with standard assembly tools, electrical/hydraulic diagnostics, and reading schematics. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, SAP/Mach 1, CAD, and logistics planning are preferred, as is experience with in‑process validation, end‑of‑line rework, and cobot/ASRS technologies. Physical requirements include standing or sitting for long periods, repetitive motions, lifting up to 35 lb, and occasional outdoor work.
The position is open for one first‑shift and one second‑shift role, with shift times of 6 am‑2:30 pm and 2 pm‑10:30 pm respectively; the second shift includes an 8 % night premium. Entry pay starts at $27.50 per hour and can reach $34.40, with eligibility limited to current CAT Athens employees who have been in their role at least six months and are not under disciplinary action.
