Ensure IR documentation, processes, and actions are compliant with legislation and company policy.
Manage the full cycle of disciplinary and grievance cases, including minor domestic inquiries.
Serve as the main operational IR resource, ensuring timely and compliant handling of all IR matters.
Ensure company IR policies and procedures are applied consistently across the organisation. Advise line managers on proper processes and legal considerations in disciplinary matters.
Act as the day-to-day liaison with union representatives on operational matters, addressing concerns promptly to avoid escalation. Prepare documentation, meeting minutes, and action plans for follow-up.
Design and deliver awareness sessions for line managers and employees on IR policies, misconduct handling, and legislative compliance, with the aim of reducing preventable cases.
Prepare and issue Notices of Demand to employees who resign without serving full notice or who breach bond agreements. Liaise with Legal Department and track recovery actions until closure.
Maintain harmonious relations with the union and employees through proactive engagement.
Manage all disciplinary and grievance cases from intake to closure, including conducting investigations, preparing show cause letters, attending hearings, and ensuring procedural fairness. For minor cases, conduct and chair domestic inquiries independently, preparing full inquiry reports and recommendations.
Prepare case documentation for IR Department, Labour Office, and courts. Represent the company in lower-tier hearings or mediations under guidance from the Manager IR. Liaise with external legal counsel when required.
Compile data, prepare proposals, and draft counter offers for collective agreement negotiations. Attend selected negotiation sessions with the Manager IR and provide post-meeting analysis.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date IR records, including case logs, inquiry reports, and settlement agreements. Prepare monthly IR reports for the Manager IR highlighting case trends, risks, and recommendations.
Serve as the first point of contact for employee grievances, conduct fact-finding meetings, and recommend resolutions or escalation. Maintain a grievance log to monitor trends and repeat issues.
Responsible for all day-to-day industrial relations matters in the company, working closely with Manager IR on more complex or strategic issues. The role independently manages IR case handling from investigation through resolution, including conducting domestic inquiries for minor cases, supporting union engagements, and representing the company in lower-tier IR and Labour disputes.
