You’ll support data‑center startups by performing on‑site mechanical, electrical and control checks, lead startup, checkout and acceptance testing for warehouse fulfillment and manufacturing systems, and partner with automation and controls engineers to troubleshoot and validate their systems. Clear communication and regular updates to customers and project teams keep progress smooth. Typical travel rotations follow schedules such as 5 on / 2 off, 10 on / 4 off or 14 on / 7 off, offering new challenges and locations each project.
For those who’d rather be on the move than behind a desk. We’re opening our 2026 hiring pipeline now for curious, adaptable problem‑solvers who love travel, hands‑on work, and being part of a team that actually knows your name. Our four‑week paid training prepares technically skilled individuals for the field, requiring a basic foundation in electrical systems, programming and communication networking.
We seek candidates who love travel and are comfortable being away from home on rotation, have a working knowledge of electrical systems, programming and communication networking, and thrive when plans change. Strong communication, problem‑solving, adaptability and grit are essential. Applicants must live within 50 miles of a major airport (relocation assistance available), have a personal vehicle within 45 days, be authorized to work in the U.S., and hold a technical degree or equivalent 3+ years of hands‑on experience in electrical, mechanical or automation engineering.
Physical duties include walking long distances across large facilities, climbing ladders or working at heights, lifting and moving up to 50 lb, and standing, kneeling or reaching for extended periods in varied environments such as construction sites and outdoors. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.
Work plus travel is at the core of the role. You’ll visit new cities, tackle unique projects and earn travel rewards while working directly with customers across North America, with no office to report to and extended time away from home.
Compensation starts at $60,000–$75,000 depending on location, education and experience, and includes per‑diem for meals, mileage reimbursement, utilization and weekend bonuses. We emphasize trust, teamwork and personal recognition over endless budgets.
Your growth is supported through paid training, annual merit raises and a guaranteed 5 % salary increase after six months. We invest in your development so you can advance in multiple directions, whether you stay long‑term or move on.
Benefits include health, dental and life insurance, a matching 401(k), short‑ and long‑term disability options, paid vacation and flexible time off after 18 months, ensuring you’re taken care of on and off the job.
Our people‑first culture values teamwork, adaptability and humor. Every leader has risen from within, so you’ll work with managers who have done the work themselves, and you’ll be surrounded by colleagues who hold each other to high standards while having each other’s backs.
If you want a challenging, travel‑filled career where your effort matters, we’d love to meet you. ProAutomated is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity, inclusion and merit‑based hiring.
