Directly supervises 0-5 employees in Inspector roles. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Maintain the required Certifications for various VDOT inspections including:
Maintains a presence at work sites, reporting findings to Engineers and/or Project Managers

Minimum 6 years’ experience: min. 3 years of VDOT experience in roadway; bridges; and stormwater construction.
High School Diploma Required.
Ability to work well independently and within a team setting
Vision correctable to 20/20 eyesight
2-year Technical Degree with an emphasis in engineering, mathematics, and the basic sciences and 1 year of related heavy construction experience, or similar construction experience.
GRIT (Guardrail Certification) VDOT
General working knowledge of highway, bridge, or infrastructure systems
10-hour OSHA safety training OSHA

Ability to manage and prioritize project assignments to meet competing deadlines

Nuclear Gauge Safety Training NRC**recognized provider
Ability to read and understand piping, civil, and electrical design drawings
Valid driver’s license
Hydraulic Cement Concrete Field VDOT or NICET Level II
Availability to travel to project site locations
Good interpersonal, communication, and conceptual thinking skills
Soil and aggregate compaction VDOT or NICET Level II
VDOT certifications or similar construction experience.
Understands the importance of complying with environmental requirements
Certification for erosion & control inspection VA DEQ
