Survey Party Chief

Description

• Responsible for performing duties as assigned by the RPLS to complete projects in an accurate, safe, ethical, professional and within a timely manner.
• Communicate daily with Project Surveyor and/or technician regarding land survey project schedule and work progress.
• Upload/Download files of survey data to their proper locations onto the field data collector or office computer.
• Prepare daily reports, time sheets, and other required paperwork.
• Responsible for collecting quality data in the field, keeping good clean documentation of work performed and sketches in a field book and perform accurate simple calculations as needed to complete surveys.
• Serves as lead on a survey crew and instructs crew members on survey techniques.
• Responsible for equipment and vehicle maintenance, ensures vehicle has proper equipment and supplies each morning and returns remaining equipment and supplies at end of shift.
• Uses of Trimble surveying equipment including but not limited to GPS, total stations and data collectors to assist with the determination of elevations and property boundaries.

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record that meets our insurance requirements, be able to pass a drug test and criminal background check.
• Professional Licensure and Society Memberships
• Must possess the ability to problem solve and think outside the box.
• Must be able to operate all survey equipment proficiently including but not limited to:
• Must have at least 1-3 years of experience with Altas, Boundaries, Construction Staking and Topographic Surveys.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced working environment, be able to read and understand plats and construction plans and interact professionally with clients or their representatives and landowners.
• Ability to walk long distances over a wide variety of terrains while carrying up to 5O lbs. in all weather conditions.
• Trimble Robotic Total stations, Trimble GPS equipment, levels along with basic computer operating skills.
• Must possess a Proven work history, strong work ethic, team-player attitude and be able to multi-task while directing multiple field personnel to meet client driven deadlines.
• TXDOT experience is a plus.
• Minimum of a high school diploma/GED required.
