Fire Alarm Technician- NICET I

Description

• Complete detailed inspection reports, documenting any issues
• Provide preliminary cost estimates for materials and services.
• Prioritizes tasks to ensure completion in a timely manner.
• Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work.
• Maintain current license and identification card to meet governmental regulations.
• Climbing ladders and entering confined spaces - frequently work on ladders and scaffolds
• Test and repair alarm systems already in place
• Respond to emergency service calls
• Install or upgrade fire alarms in commercial and/or residential buildings
• Including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• PRACTICES WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in repair of HVAC equipment.
• Perform inspections to ensure alarms are installed according to code

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience must include an industrial or commercial facilities maintenance environment
• Valid driver’s license compliant with REAL ID Act or are you willing and able to obtain one
• NICET I Certification
• Adaptable and flexible in work situations
• Use of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walking
• Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping
• Proficiency in the use of test equipment
• Able to read and understand installation manuals
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
• Knowledge of all fire safety codes and regulations
• Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
• Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws and building codes and regulations pertaining to the trade
• U. S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent amounts of technical training and experience
• multi-meters and digital analyzers
• Work both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures (some extreme) and weather conditions
• May spend long hours outside and in awkward positions which can cause physical discomfort and strain - may stand for long periods
• Working knowledge of NFPA standards (including 70 and 72)
