General Operative

Description

• Manage the sign out of material/equipment to sub-contractors & log.
• Assist the Mechanical trade team with manual labour tasks such as moving equipment and materials, assisting in the installation of containment, cable pulling and clean as you go process.
• Manage the intake of deliveries & movement for all material/equipment to site in conjunction with the planned delivery schedules.
• Coordinate with other departments to fulfil requests for materials and supplies.
• Pick, pack, and transport goods to agreed locations on site as directed by the construction manager/chargehand.
• Accurately label, stock and store incoming goods in the appropriate location.
• Monitor stock levels of sundries & update construction manager / supervisors of levels in timely manner.
• Monitor inventory levels and place orders for replenishment as required in conjunction with construction manager/project lead.
• Manage the return of empty cable drums in a timely manner once cabling has been pulled from drums.
• Ensure storage areas are kept secure, organised, clean & tidy.
• Keep record & manage direct plant on site.
• Follow health and safety guidelines and report any incidents or hazards.

Requirements

• Manual Handling and Safe Pass a requirement
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Basic computer skills
• Previous experience in a construction site environment preferred.
• Completed housekeeping duties as directed.
