  • Champion operational requirements from concept design through to commissioning and handover.
  • Ensure safety-critical processes such as Safe Control of Operations (SCO) are planned and compliant.
  • Collaborate with site teams to support mobilisation, construction, and commissioning activities.
  • Provide expert input during detailed design and commissioning phases.
  • Facilitate smooth project handovers, ensuring operational teams are fully prepared and confident.
  • Review and influence engineering designs to ensure they are operable, maintainable, and cost-effective.

  • Must be able to hit the ground running, with a strategic mindset and a personable, adaptable approach.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Proven experience in operational or project delivery roles within the water industry.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A full UK driving license is essential, as regular travel to operational sites is required.
  • Strong technical understanding of wastewater treatment processes.
  • Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering. Or equivalent experience.
  • Practical experience with commissioning and operational handover.
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards accreditation (desirable).
