Conduct research on emerging regulations (e.g., SEC climate disclosure rules, California SB 253/261, EPA methane rules) and industry best practices
Contribute to ESG/sustainability reporting, Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) alignment, and CDP/Climate Disclosure Project responses
Perform data analysis and visualization (Excel, Power BI, or similar) for landfill gas, biogas, and waste-diversion projects
Support life-cycle assessments (LCA), circular economy studies, and zero-waste/master planning initiatives
Participate in client meetings, site visits (when possible), and internal sustainability training sessions
Collaborate on marketing/proposal efforts and conference submissions (e.g., WasteExpo, SWANA, Air & Waste Management Association)
GHG) inventories, carbon footprint calculations, and Scope 1, 2, and 3 reporting using the GHG Protocol
Prepare technical memos, presentations, and sections of client deliverables
Help develop climate action plans, decarbonization roadmaps, and renewable natural gas (RNG)/carbon capture feasibility studies
Complete a capstone presentation to SCS leadership on a sustainability topic or project of your choice

Solid computer skills and a willingness to learn new tools and develop technical skills through hands-on project experience.

Must be willing to live in the Mobile area for Summer 2026 (housing allowance will not be provided).
Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master’s degree in environmental, biosystems, or chemical engineering, environmental science, sustainability studies, data science, business sustainability, or related fields and graduating by June 2028 required. Candidates going into senior year are preferred.
Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication.
Previous leadership experience required.
Ability to travel overnight for work outside of an office setting may be required.
Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing required
