Water Resources Intern-Water (Summer 2026)

Description

• Assisting with field work for data collection, site inspections and observations.
• This internship is with the local Water Resources group, but there may be opportunities to assist in other disciplines in the office such as Geotechnical, Transportation, and Environmental Services
• Building surface models in AutoCAD Civil3D.
• Preparing spreadsheets, graphs, and figures for design reports.
• Candidate will assist engineering and administrative staff with such tasks as: Data processing and management using GIS to support hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
• Preparing design and construction plans, specifications, quantity take-offs and construction estimates.
• Supporting Project Managers with various tasks to advance and track project progress.

Requirements

• Previous internship or co-op experience a plus
• Desired software applications include AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and ArcMap/GIS
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Currently enrolled in an accredited degree program for Civil and/or Environmental Engineering degree or other technical disciplines.
• Exposure to H&H software applications including HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM a plus.
• Must have good organizational skills, be reliable, detail orientated and capable of working independently on assigned tasks.
