The Gate Attendant/Scale Operator monitors and records waste volumes entering the post‑collection site and collects the appropriate usage fees from customers.
Key duties include determining the material content of incoming loads to bill customers correctly, accepting or rejecting loads and suggesting alternatives for special waste, receiving payments and issuing receipts, balancing daily receipts and depositing them securely, documenting waste using truck scales and computer systems, notifying operations of special loads and completing required paperwork, answering phone calls, maintaining a clean work area, and performing other assigned tasks.
