Key responsibilities include performing inspections and documenting permit compliance, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control equipment such as valves, compressors, and pumps, and collecting data from gauges for digital reporting. The operator will also maintain and calibrate instrumentation, use hand and power tools to replace pipes and fittings, and conduct sampling of influent and effluent streams. Coordination of electrical and mechanical subcontractors, thorough documentation of site activities, and flexible availability for overtime, weekends, holidays, and emergency call‑outs are required.
Applicants need at least three years of relevant experience troubleshooting treatment‑system controls, a high‑school diploma, a clear driver’s license, and a TWIC card or the ability to obtain one. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required. Preferred qualifications include an Indiana or Illinois wastewater certification, a 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification, and ARC Flash NFPA 70E training.
